The single-leaf gate is the pedestrian version of everything we build for the driveway — side-yard access, garden entries, courtyard walkways, the door in a fence line. In Orinda, orinda is hillside country — driveways climb, curve, and cross drainage. site rules the design.
Every leaf is framed in mortise-and-tenon joinery and hung from hinges rated at 2× the loaded weight. We specify Sapele mahogany over redwood for stability, and every fastener that touches the gate is marine-grade hardware.
