What Affects Cost

Six things move the number.

Opening width and height

Wider and taller gates use more material and need heavier hardware. The jump from 12 ft to 18 ft is significant.

Single vs double, swing vs sliding

Sliding gates cost more than swing gates in equivalent sizes because of the operator and track engineering.

Automation and access control

Automation is quoted per site. Operator, power, and safety devices are sized to leaf weight, width, and how often the gate runs.

Maintenance

Heartwood Service Package from $600 per year.

Design complexity

Custom inlay, CNC engraving, and curved framing all add fabrication time.

Site conditions

Slope, soil, existing posts, trenching distance to power, and concrete work all affect install cost.

Finish and hardware spec

Solid brass and bronze hardware costs more than powder-coated steel, but lasts longer and reads more refined.

01Why don't you publish exact prices?

Custom gates aren't catalog products. A 14-foot manual swing gate and a 14-foot automated cantilever sliding gate share almost nothing in cost. We give a transparent, fixed-price quote after we understand your site and design.

02Do you offer financing?

We don't finance directly, but most clients use a HELOC or home-improvement financing through their bank. We're happy to coordinate documentation.

03How much deposit do you require?

Standard terms are 50% to begin design and fabrication, balance due at install. Larger projects can be staged across three payments.

04Do you offer gate maintenance?

Yes. The Heartwood Service Package starts at $600 per year and keeps the finish, hardware and operator in working order.

05Are estimates free?

Yes. The design consultation and initial proposal are free, with no obligation.
