Custom Cantilever Sliding Gates
A cantilever sliding gate travels beside the entrance without a ground track across the driveway. Its support structure and side run-back space are designed as part of the gate.

What is a cantilever sliding gate?
A cantilever gate is supported beside the opening rather than rolling on a track across the driveway. Guide rollers and carriage hardware are specified for the individual gate.
The leaf travels along the boundary while its support assembly carries the structure clear of the drive. The frame, foundations and hardware must be designed together. A hardwood face can be carried on a steel structure, or the design can use steel or hybrid construction to suit the entrance.
When is cantilever the right choice instead of V-track?
Cantilever can suit gravel, slopes and entrances where a ground track would be a problem. It needs clear side run-back space for the gate and its support arrangement.
A V-track slide rolls on a ground rail, so the driveway surface and the path of the rail matter. Cantilever removes that rail from the crossing but does not remove the need for site engineering. We assess levels, drainage, foundations and the available boundary space before recommending either approach.
How is a cantilever gate constructed?
Hardwood, steel and hybrid construction are available, with the support system specified around the gate. Guide rollers, carriage hardware and connections are chosen for its structure and intended use.
Sapele mahogany can form the visible face, with tongue-and-groove boards or an open layout selected to suit the design. Mortise-and-tenon joinery belongs where the timber frame calls for it; a hybrid gate coordinates the hardwood infill with its steel carrier. The shop drawings resolve these connections before fabrication.
What does a cantilever sliding gate cost?
Sliding gates, including cantilever, typically run $22,000–$85,000+ installed. Automation is quoted per site.
Opening width, construction, ground conditions and access determine the scope. Read the driveway gate cost guide for the configuration ranges and separately quoted work.
How are automation and installation planned?
The gate structure, operator, power supply, access control and safety devices are planned together. The operator is selected for the leaf and its duty rather than added as a generic accessory.
